Exclusive: 4-Page Preview of LEGION LOST #0

DC's #0 September issues have all been looking into the past — digging into the heart and back story of many 'New 52' characters; getting to the heart of who they are and what it is that makes them tick. These September issues have become both a way for the creators of many DC titles to expound on the overarching theme or plot of their story, as well as a way to give comic book readers a look at the identity, personality and origin of many popular DC characters. When it comes to a team book like LEGION LOST, how do you tell an origin story? Some of DC’s team books are looking to bring the spotlight onto a particular character; in the case of LEGION LOST, that character is Timber Wolf.

Earlier this week we were given the opportunity to share with you a peek into the zero issue of LEGION LOST where creators Tom DeFalco and Pete Woods would be exploring the identity and the origin of Timber Wolf. So, how much of the character’s origin story do you think will be changed? Will the rare Zuunium element still have a big role in who he is and what he becomes? It will be interesting to see how much of his origin has changed from his first appearance in ADVENTURE COMICS #327. What would you like to see? Check out LEGION LOST #0 in stores on September 12th, 2012.

Valiant is proud to present an advance preview of Harbinger #4, from New York Times best-selling author Joshua Dysart and Harvey Award-nominee Khari Evans! Daniel Way “Charges Up” New Marvel NOW! Title
This winter Marvel is completely switching things up, creating new series featuring different characters and swapping writers on many of their ongoing books. With Deadpool's current ongoing series coming to an end, it's safe to say that writer Daniel Way has had a very long and relatively successful run on the title with 60+ issues under his belt. So what’s next for the creator?
When asked in an interview earlier this year what he would be working on since his run on DEADPOOL was coming to an end, Way revealed he would be “working on a team book and…that’s about all I can say.” Considering the writer has ample experience portraying Deadpool in his comic book series, the obvious choice would be for Way to take over writing duties for Rick Remender on UNCANNY X-FORCE since, you know, Deadpool is on the team. This was the rumor that was circulating the net until today.
This morning Marvel unveiled the teaser image for a new book due to hit stores this December that would be written by Way and feature art from Steve Dillon. The teaser consists of one word: “Lightning” and an image of red cross-hairs set in a black background. So, what team book can we associate with the word “Lightning”? Thunderbolts, of course. So the big question we are left with, what Marvel characters will Way have the pleasure of playing with on the upcoming title?

Check Out Five Pages of Alex Ross Art from MASKS #1

In case you missed the announcement earlier this summer, Chris Roberson and Alex Ross are joining forces at Dynamite Entertainment to deliver MASKS, a comic coming in November featuring the team up of Green Hornet & Kato, the Shadow, the Spider and Zorro.

Sounds crazy and cool, right? Well, it gets crazier and even cooler. Alex Ross will be doing the interiors for the comic. When was the last time that happened? As for why these pulp heroes are joining forces and who or what they’ll be up against, I don’t really care. I just want to stare at these five consecutive painted pages of Alex Ross art.

Latest Marvel NOW! Teaser is About Surviving
Marvel is continuing their Marvel Now! teasers. We have another series coming up. This one is by the creative team of Dennis Hopeless and Kevin Walker.
This is more of a mystery. It looks like it might be a new title rather than one getting a new creative team. The past teasers could be deciphered easily but this one…who needs to try to survive? There’s also the blood there that suggests something a little more violent. Maybe I’m just missing the obvious.
